Winter Classes 

Stuck in a day that's gray and lonely? Stick out your chin and grin, and come to The Thumb!  Beginning Acting and "Musical Theater Classics for Kids" is the perfect way for young singer-actors to liven up the late winter months. Like the song says, "The sun'll come out tomorrow" . . . But until then, join us for six weeks of singing, dancing, acting fun!"  We are offering two classes - perfect for home and public school families...

Beginning Acting for Kids

Mondays, February 17 to March 23, 2020

10an to 11:30am - Ages 8-14

Instructor: Joy Lobb

Cost: $200 per student


Students will be shown how to use their "actor toolbox" to create a strong foundation in acting. They'll learn how to build characters by using their voice, body, facial expressions, and creativity, and how to improvise and work with other actors in scenes. On the last day of class, they'll have a sharing time with families and friends. click here to register

Musical Theatre Classics for Kids
Saturdays, February 22 to March 28, 2020

10am to 12 Noon - Ages 7-14

Instructors: Emily Herivel and Joy Lobb

Cost: $200 per student

This class introduces young actors to some of the most iconic children's roles in musical theater. Students will learn to sing and perform key songs from shows like: Oliver!, The Sound of Music, Mathilda, Annie, Shrek: The Musical......and more! Students will have opportunities to sing alone and in groups, will learn how to sing with age-appropriate stage voices and how to act and interact with other performers while singing. On the last day of class students will present a short program in the style of a Musical Review to showcase what they learned. Max class size 16.  click here to register for class

Cancellation/Refund Policy: All classes not meeting their minimum requirement of 6 students one week prior to class start date may be cancelled. In the event of class cancellation you will be notified by  e-mail or by phone and receive a full refund of tuition and fees. (We cannot connect to phones with caller block). We will make every effort to notify you within 5 business days in the event of cancellation.
